Up & Coming is a live music showcase that provides a platform for emerging musicians every last Wednesday of the month. Supported by the Department of Arts & Culture, and produced by Bardill Entertainment, this event has showcased well over 200 emerging artists over the past 5 years, and is still going strong. If you have an appreciation for Jazz, Soul, RnB, African Traditional and Folk Music, then this is the event for you!

Our venue for 2016 is the Hard Rock Cafe, Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton. We kick off our first event of the year on Wednesday 30th March from 8pm. We’ll be showcasing 5 new artists this month, to celebrate our 5th birthday. Tickets cost R100, and can be purchased online or at the door.

The visionaries behind the Up & Coming initiative realized that there are very few spaces dedicated to up and coming live music artists in Johannesburg and indeed South Africa as a whole. “The vision for this initiative is for it to grow into a national event with a reputation for exposing, developing and promoting extraordinary, experienced and yet largely unknown music artists from South Africa to the greater public” says founder, award-winning performing artist and UCT graduate, Mandisa Bardill of Bardill Entertainment.
